First, you have to preheat the oven to 180c\/160c and grease and line your tins. Make sure the rack in the oven is in the middle of the oven to make sure the ginger cake is evenly baked.<\/p>\n

Ingredients:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Raising flour- 225g<\/p>\n

Bicarbonate of soda- 1 tsp<\/p>\n

Ground ginger- 1 tablespoon<\/p>\n

Ground cinnamon- 1 tsp<\/p>\n

Mixed spice- 1 tsp<\/p>\n

Butter- 125g<\/p>\n

Dark muscovado sugar- 125g<\/p>\n

Black treacle- 125g<\/p>\n

Golden syrup- 125g<\/p>\n

Milk- 250ml<\/p>\n

Egg-1<\/p>\n

Procedure:<\/strong><\/p>\n

Take the bowl and sift the flour, all the dry spices, and bicarbonate of soda. Bicarbonate of soda will help to stay in clumps and not disperse through the cake. Add the butter and wipe it into the flour mixture with your hands until it resembles breadcrumbs. Add the sugar, milk, syrup, and treacle and put it on a low heat. Keep stirring until the sugar has dissolved, then turn up the heat and bring the mixture to just below boiling point so it does not burn the sugars or it will be bitter, take off the heat. Carefully pour in the treacle mix into the flour mixture with the wooden spoon. Break the egg and beat the mixture well. Pour the ginger cake mixture into the prepared tins.
